My Finance Platform publishes free retirement calculators, guides and Excel templates, and an email newsletter. This policy explains the limited information we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter, download a template, or email yourself a calculator result. With a template download we also record which template you asked for; with a health-check result, the score summary you chose to send.
- What you write to us, if you contact us.
- Purchase details, if we offer paid products and you buy one. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Numbers you type into calculators
The calculators run in your browser. The balances, ages, income and other figures you enter are not sent to us or stored by us.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity measure how pages are used (for example, which pages are visited and how far readers scroll). In the EU, the EEA and the UK they run only after you consent; elsewhere they run by default and you can opt out in your browser. Our cookie policy has the details.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and the templates or results you request
- To reply to your messages
- To deliver any product you buy from us, and to keep the records the law requires
- To understand which pages and tools are useful, so we can improve them
- To keep the site secure and screen out spam and automated sign-ups
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it to make decisions about you.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Supabase stores email addresses and sign-up records.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Slack notifies our team of new sign-ups and messages.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity provide usage analytics, as described in our cookie policy.
- A payment processor handles payments, if we offer paid products.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address while you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of the analytics providers.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, by replying to any email or contacting us.
- Ask for a copy, a correction or deletion of the personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of analytics or change your cookie choice, as described in the cookie policy.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will honor requests we are able to verify.
Security
The site is served over encrypted connections, and access to the data we hold is limited to the people who run the site. No system is perfectly secure; our security page describes our approach in plain terms.
Children
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell subscribers about significant changes by email.
